Saturday:
Woke up early yesterday to meet Meisi at her uni with a Hungry Jack's brekky muffin I got for her breakfast, and then we headed down to Carousel for a movie. We watched "Take the Lead", which was about this dance school owner/instructor who decided to teach "ballroom" dancing in detention classes to this bunch of problem kids. While that line sort of sums up the whole movie, it actually has a lot of meaning, insights and the dance moves in it are fantastic. I wanted to go learn ballroom dancing after the movie, haha... But I know I'm too lazy to lar.. I'll probably give up after putting on the tuxedo. Meisi preferred funkier and more hip/hop dances but I think she thought the movie was good too.
After that, we went on down to Dome at Fremantle for a coffee, potato wedges and some chatting. Walked around a bit around Freo after the coffee and chat, and also visited this nice little shop called The Pickled Fairy and Other Myths. It's like the sort of shop that I would bring my little girl (if I had any) for her birthday to choose out her presents. The shopkeepers dress up as fairies and some of the items you can find there are quite special.
We were really starving actually, but only had the wedges for lunch as we were intending to go for this Indian Buffet at Sanuly's Indian Restaurant in Freo. We had never been there before, and no one really recommended the place, but it looked kinda tempting, so we decided to try. My personal opinion was that the food there was authenthic Indian Cuisine, which is really rare in Perth. The variety was passable, as it consisted of 2 types of rice, papadums, naan bread, a fried vegetable ball dish, a potato dish, 5 curries, Tandoori chicken, 3 side dishes and 3 desserts.
The taste for some were really not that fantastic, like the "achar", which I took one small mouthful of and promptly decided to leave it be. The rest were still not too bad, at least the curries were nice and thick and spicy. However, in terms of Singapore standard, you can really get the same sort of taste at prata joints, so it wasn't that great a value for money. (We paid AUD$27 each for the food, which works out to about SGD$37.) But I kinda missed Indian food so I was not too sad about it. Meisi didn't think it was that fantastic though, but I think she was still quite all right with it. We both agreed that we should order ala carte instead of the buffet next time, but I just saw on her blog that she wouldn't want to go there again, so ermm... ok... =)

The ambience of the place was pretty good

After that we went around Fremantle for a walk, to digest all the food that we had taken. It was really a full day of eating and eating man... Haha... But it was good... We saw quite a few drunk people walking around, so we didn't really explore far. Went back to the bustling parts of Freo and headed into Gelatino's for ice cream. Yes that's right, more food. Haha.. We are really pigs. The ice cream we got were the sherbets, since the other creamier ones would be too filling for our already popping stomachs. We had lemon, passionfruit and green apple. The best turned out to be lemon, followed by passionfruit, while the green apple one was just disappointing. The sour lemon taste just rocks when you are so full already.

Headed back to Murdoch after that, where Meisi made some tea for both of us to help with the digestion. Haha... I think we needed more than just tea.. =P It wasn't that bad lar, but I think we really put away a fair amount of food between us. Wanted to play some drinking games, but I was driving and moreover, Zen and Lydia were studying, so they didn't want to play. Left Murdoch around 11 for home. Gosh, we went out for about 12 hours. Has loads of fun and food so I guessed time really seemed to zip by.
Sunday:
Woke up at 5.45am to go to the Canningvale Flea Market to sell my balloons again. Had to go over to pick up my lovely assistant Tzu Yao again. Business today was really slow at first, but gradually picked up. What was really irritating was that there were 2 dirty old men who came over to crack stupid sex jokes. I wonder where they came from, and wouldn't be surprised if the headlines tomorrow reported 2 missing men from the sex deprived wing of the local happy farm. (Mental Hospital)
Tzu Yao was really funny as usual. The one thing I could really remember was when this Asian guy walked by with his kids. So I politely asked if he would like to buy some balloons, he just stared at me and walked off while talking to his kids. Normally in Aussie the people are a great deal more polite, so they would actually decline politely if they didn't want to buy stuff. I could hear from his accent that he was Singaporean, so I just told Tzu Yao, the Singaporean guy didn't want to buy. Tzu Yao just said, "Wrong approach lar, Singaporean must use different approach. OEI! Uncle, OEI!!!! Da Jian Jia! Clearence SALE!" SO funny, and really reminded me of home... Haha...
We went to buy some food from Taurus and went over to eat with 2 friends, who met Tzu Yao for the first time after hearing so much about him from me and this blog. One of them even gave him a postcard... I thought that was really a culture shock for Tzu Yao. He might probably feel like a star... Haha... But I think he was really pleasantly surprised, since it's the first time in his life that he got one. Haha...
Went home around 4 after sending Tzu Yao home and zoned out... Was a real struggle waking up at 6.30. I had to use all my willpower to bend my body to the superior will... Phew~ I was feeling really lazy and didn't feel like going jogging today, so I was trying to think of a good excuse, and it started raining. Yay! So it's not my fault... Really cannot go jog... Sigh... Wanted to go so much. =P Yeah right...
