Apologies for the lack of updates last week. I was feeling a little under the weather, and didn't have the mood to blog. Besides, I was out the rest of the time. Here are some short updates though.

Friday
Stayed over at Danny's place last night, and it was fun! The place is really nice, with a splendid view of the city. Too bad I was feeling a little sick already, so didn't really enjoy myself as much as I should have. Think I caught the flu bug from Rachel.

Danny did something stupid, while we were at his balcony enjoying wine and the view of the city. He took his shorts off (no one was watching) as he thought he was wearing boxers underneath. Turned out that he only had the normal underwear underneath and he was so embarassed! Haha... Really had a good laugh when he pulled his shorts up urgently. Hoho...

Today he came over to my house, and we had a good time just talking and cooking up a good lunch and dinner for us both. Catching up on each other's life and discussing things of interest. Cool...

Saturday
Met up with Lydia, Steve, and Joel for a dim sum lunch today. Lunch was good, and I really had my fill. Went to Carousel for a little shopping today, as Steve hasn't been to Carousel yet. Headed over to SV for a Baskin Robbins treat by Lydia today, as she passed her driving test. Congrats! The 3 flavours of ice cream were all good, and are recommended. White chodamia mania, Jamaica Almond Flavour and World Class Chocolate. Whoa... They really rock.

Went home after that to chill out a bit. Feeling a little under the weather, as I haven't recovered from the flu bug Rachel passed on. Urgh... I hate being sick. Can't even go jogging. Called Kat up to wish her happy birthday. Actually it's tomorrow, but the gang were celebrating it today. Wish I was there... =(

Joel's coming over later to stay so that we can go to church together tomorrow. Gonna see if I can catch the World Cup too.

Been thinking a lot these few days, and I've come to the conclusion that 20 years down the road, it's things that we have not done that will be our greatest regrets, not those that we have done.

Love has a great sense of humour, but a poor sense of timing. How true.

Sunday
Church as usual, before heading down to this place called Ipoh Garden for lunch. I was contemplating whether to have chicken rice (as recommended by Joel) or Ipoh Hor Fun, which is the signature dish there. In the end I went for the chicken rice. Thank God... When the Ipoh Hor Fun which some others ordered came, the smell of prawns nearly knocked me out. I definitely wouldn't have been able to take a single bite of the stuff. Chicken rice was good, as it was reasonably like what you would expect of chicken rice, which is rare in Perth. Nice nice.

Joel came over to my place for dinner, and I cooked some stuff for us. After that, he called Meisi to chat with her for an hour, before I took over the phone and chatted with her for about 2 hours. Poor Joel fell asleep during that time, haha. So sorry, but I haven't talked to her for about a week already and we had plenty to talk about. =P

Joel and I went over to Arthur's place to catch the World Cup final, and was joined by Jerome as well. Joel, Jerome and I were French supporters while Arthur rooted for Italy. In the end, I was rather disappointed by the performance of both teams. Lousy, lousy. Fell asleep during the second half, only to wake up and catch the extra time play, as well as Zidane's controversal head butt. I felt sympathy for Zidane, actually... He should not have done it, but I guess despite being a legend, he is human after all. Catch the news on the reasons behind his violent actions. I guess the temperamental side of me actually empathises with him. Losing your cool is not good, though understandable at times.

Monday
Woke up late after staying over at Joel's after the match. Had a nice spaghetti brunch cooked by Joel (though it needed more sauce =P), before heading home to change. Met up with Joel again and went down to Northbridge for dinner with Mari-anne and Geraldine at Sparrow's. The food there still rocks, and the owner is as funny as ever.

We went to this nice place called Moon cafe for drinks and dessert after that. The banana cheesecake and the mud cake there were good! Whoo~ And I was shocked at certain things people knew about me... News definitely travelled around, and it is really shocking to know that it has gone so far.

Arthur joined us after his work, and he had some beer. Hoegarden (sp) beer rocks! But too bad I couldn't have any, since I was driving.

Called Meisi after I got home, and we talked for really long today man! 5 hours! *eyes pop out* I think the porridge is burnt. (get a cantonese friend to explain what that means) But the chat was really nice though.

Tuesday
Overslept today! I think I woke up and turned off my alarm. In the end I had to rush for work and I was late! =( It was my first (and only) day working at this place called Commtech Technologies, where they manufacture wireless gadgets and pagers. Pager! So retro! Who uses pagers nowadays? Actually, they explained to me that pagers are still relevant in this world. According to the staff at Commtech, pagers were still working during the 911 incident years ago, while mobile phone systems were down due to the huge influx of calls. Additionally, doctors and other emergency personnel still use pagers.

Anyway, my job was to do the following.

Step 1: Take out a box with a pager in it.

Step 2: Remove the instruction manual in english.

Step 3: Fold the instructions in Spanish.

Step 4: Stick a quality control sticker on the pager.

Step 5: Replace pager and spanish instructions in the box.

Step 6: Repeat 310 times.

It made me feel like a assembly line worker in rural China, and I think they really do the same there. The difference? My pay was really executive standard. Ask me how much I got paid. I think your eyes will pop out.

Darn tired... Slept less than 2 hours last night. Oh, and results are out. I am happy with them.
