Apart from the floods, the Korean singer is in town for his rather over-priced concert. So I got to catch a glimpse of him for free when I went to the airport to pick up another friend. The mob was really huge, and my height really came in handy when I tried to take pictures of him.
Ngee Ann Poly Openhouse
3 days of hell at the openhouse, serving 1,000 sticks of candyfloss per day. At the end, I wound up with blisters on my fingers, a first in my career in candyfloss. At least I had some pretty gals and handsome dudes from Ngee Ann Poly's cheerleading team, "The Magnum Force" to help me out. Oh, and they are really talented cheerleaders too! The best in Singapore I've seen so far. Their gymnastics really rock! Special thanks to yet another Raine, who was my number 1 helper, and Amy, who helped me loads as well. =) Especially when their help is pro bono.
Amy, a gal whose name I cannot recall, and Raine

Can't remember his name on the left, and Jen on the rightMeeting with Nikki
Met up with Nikki for a lunch and movie. We had Mos Burger after repeated requests from her. According to Nikki, my stubborn refusal to eat Mos Burger suggests a closed mindset, and vastly increases my chance of getting retrenched in the future. Fine then... -speechless-
After lunch, it was off to Ikea Tampines for some shopping, before we headed to Tampines Mall for a movie. We were deciding what movie to catch, when Nikki said we should go for something light-hearted. She suggested "Happy Birthday", a love comedy by Louis Koo and Rene Liu. I happily obliged, since I favour Rene Liu.
After the movie, I felt like crying. Nikki got it wrong, it was not a love comedy. The storyline is just so sad... Felt really cheated lor, Nikki... But it was still a good movie. Just that I didn't expect it to be so sad. To think that Rene Liu wrote it herself.
The movie made me think of some issues. Why can't everything be uncomplicated?
I still can feel the beach's sand in my shoes, remember when
We talked about the ocean's song till blue from black fade in
But that was when I learnt to live without you, far within
I ask you why you're back to try to let me lose again
Should I feel some closure I deserve, if that at least
And would you be so kind to show reasons for your release
You woke me up from a distant past I left behind complete
The message that you sent that night now falls to bittersweet
Was it me?
My honesty?
You fail to show
I never know
It wasn't me who made the call
Because now I want to be
Where you sleep
Where you laugh
Where you breathe
And I hate to say
Still I sway
Brown your eyes
Gone away
Someday you'll wish you never
