Finally got my stupid presentation on "Trade and Economic Growth" done with. Shouldn't have chosen such a controversial topic to start with. All was going well as I had already thought of a good way to present the latest findings until the idiot professor stated his stand in lectures last week, which was directly opposite to mine.
My internal struggle this week was to decide if I wanted to go along with his view, and go directly contrary to my own research, or to exhibit some guts and just present my views, which was soundly supported by research and recent empirical studies. I chose the latter.
Professor Wu: "Your data is disorganised. This is clearly a macroeconomic problem, but you are using microeconomic data."
Me: "Oh, that is the new approach taken by recent researchers. They have not used microeconomic data to replace the macro side of the problem, but are just using it to explain what is happening on the micro level so that an answer to the macro side can be found."
The feedback I got from other students were that my presentation was sound and well-structured, and the idiot prof probably didn't get it. Chaiser. Now I need to go and see him so that I can explain the whole thing to him.
On a lighter note, went for dinner at Good Fortune with the others. Shiok!!! And I so love the salt and pepper fish there. *slurps*
