Wed
Spent Wed with Xiao De and Jean food shopping in preparation for the bbq the next day. We went to
1) Subiaco where the main bulk of the food was bought,
2) Kong's Oriental shop at Broadway for some of the asian food shopping
3) and 5 other Oriental shops around Nedlands and Crawley to help Pet find her "stingray" for bbq
making it 6 Oriental shops we visited.
After the food shopping, we spent a little time at Jean's place marinating the food, and this is the bad part of preparing food. After a while of marinating chicken wings, the 2 girls declared that they are not gonna eat the chicken wings tomorrow. Subsequently, after a little while of marinating the beef, they declared that they were gonna skip that as well.
Preparing food is a messy, and disquieting, affair.
The 3 of us went to Nando's for a fab dinner, with Portuguese egg tarts. Seriously, the egg tarts there are nice~ :D
Headed down to Icey Ice with Xiao De after food prep to join some of the church peeps. It was kinda a last minute thing, given that I was tired and Esther wasn't in the mood to go, but in the end we flipped a coin at Swong's place, and decided to go join the peeps for a while.
So we ended up at Icey Ice watching the others prancing around in their pyjamas. They were all in their pyjamas as you can get a 50% discount if you were in your pyjamas. Esther and I were the only ones not in pyjamas in our group.
The climax of the day: I got a $60 parking fine. Dammit.
Thurs
BBQ was pretty good. I think bbqing is a really enjoyable experience. You don't have to perspire buckets while bbqing, which is very good. The gas bbq removes the hassle of charcoal and fire-starters, and there is always a ready supply of water nearby.
And a big thank you to Swong for offering us her place (ok, well, maybe we asked, but you get the idea) for the bbq. :D
