Yesterday was the first time I took a train in Perth!!! Can't believe that I had not taken the train before in Perth after 4 long years...
Anyway, in the light of the rising crude oil prices globally, parking shortages in UWA, and carbon emissions, I have decided to switch to public transport. That's why I decided to start going on the train starting yesterday!!!
Note, if asking me out after work from now please give me notice so I can drive. Otherwise, be prepared to send me home. =)
I met up with my bus buddy at her place early in the morning at 7.20, as we wanted to make sure I could get parking at the trainstation. (I also needed to be in school by 9am. Kenna arrow to go for an exam at the last min)
I was kinda excited about taking the train, as it was my first time. When I scanned my multi-rider at the gantry, the gantry failed to open... I had to go in through the side entrance. Bus Buddy mentioned that she never encountered that before in her years of taking the train...
The train ride was really fast and short. We reached the Esplanade in about 15 mins. However, the train overshot, and as we were on the last carriage, the door of our carriage was overlooking the train tracks already. We had to walk through other cars to get to the platform area where we could get off. Again, this was unencountered by Bus Buddy. To add to our panic, when we were still walking to the door, the "Door closing" warning sounded. Run!!!
On the trip back, there was a delay to the train going "From Perth" (i.e. to other areas). We had to wait a long time before the train finally came. Bus Buddy remarked that all these problems were really rare and it was so funny that they happened to me all at once. Seems like I'm not a suitable train rider. Hmm... We shall see.
