Blowfish Disaster

The weekends almost here. Woke up early today and Wendi drove us to this place called Harbourtown for shopping. The place has lotsa shops and the prices are quite ok too. I think I shall be visiting this place more often. Had lunch at this plave called Noodle's Inn, which is opened by a Singaporean. We had laksa and hor fun, which tasted reasonable but cost around $8 each, making it around $10 in Singapore dollars. Good grief!!!

After that we went to this market at Subiaco, a sort of wet market place where you can buy fresh vegetables etc and also other relics and curios. Didn't have much time to look around so just gave the place a brief go-over while my parents bought the vegetables for today's dinner. Returned home and had a nap, gosh I'm dead tired. Woke up and watched a bit of TV before having dinner, which was chicken curry, fish curry, and stir fried vegetables which my sis cooked. Her cooking has definitely improved.

After dinner, we slacked for a while before getting dressed. We're going crabbing and fishing!!! We put on jackets and stuff as it can get quite cold at night and beside large bodies of water. As I stood outside waiting for the rest, I noticed something. The stars here and clear and huge. Gosh they're beautiful... I've fallen in love with the constellations.

It was a 2 hour drive to Mandurah, the place where we were to do out fishing and crabbing. After eternity, we finally reached the place and began our short trek to the middle of a bridge where we did our fishing. We used leftover chicken as bait for the crabs and prawn as bait for fish. Throughout the night we didn't catch a single crab but lots of blowfish (or puffer fish) was hooked. As they are poisonous we had to unhook them or cut the hook off and throw them back into the water. All in all though, it was still fun and I enjoyed myself immensely. We'll just have to change the bait next time to promise better rewards, as crab is known to be partial to salmon fish. Since Wendi was tired I drove on the return journey, and it was extremely tiring and you are just so afraid you'll fall asleep as you are travelling at high speed (around 100km/hour), the roads are straight and quiet (not a single car in sight) and you have an entire family sleeping behind you (temptation calls). On the way back we did see and accident, a car had rammed into a signpost and wound up around a hundred metres away. I instantly sobered and woke up.

Reach home in good time, around an hour plus and we all showered before heading straight to bed. After all we were all tired and looking forward to the weekend as well, and my parents looked very tired all throughout the trip (but were dragged out of the house by my sis).
