The weekend passed by real quick didn't it? Darn... This weekend didn't seem to be there at all, went shopping on Saturday and also to transfer my phone line's ownership from my sis's b/f to me, as he signed up the line for me when I first got here. You wouldn't believe the bad service we got here...
At first when we signed up for the line, they told us we could transfer the ownership anytime later on at no charge. So when we went back to change the ownership, we were told their branch can't handle it and we need to go to another branch about 15 minutes walk away to fill up a form. So we walked to the other branch, only to be told that no such form exists and that we had been conned. We were told that the branch where we signed up at IS the branch that we MUST go to. We walked back again. This time the branch told us that a transfer fee of $50 applies for change of ownership. We were stunned and furious. I informed the branch manager that we asked explicitly whether there would be a charge the other time and we were told otherwise and that we will not pay any transfer fee. There was an argument after which the manager told us to pay for the transfer fee and he will arrange for the $50 to be issued in phone credit for us, so that it won't make a difference to us. I refused and told him that I don't trust them anymore and can't take what they say at face value. He got angry and told me that if the credit is not issued after 3 months I can return and "fight it out" with him. My sis persuaded me to take up the offer first and see what happens next. I agreed but a complaint letter is on the way to 3 Network's Head Office. I remember thinking that this sort of thing will not happen in Singapore, it's extremely bad service, especially when he challenged and threatened me. Oh yeah the branch manager is from Singapore as well. Argh... Bad incident.
Went to church in the morning on Sunday, the English service this time. It is an improvement, they had a full band playing and the worship style was much more contemporary, though the songs we sang were all new to me. However, I don't agree with the lyrics of some of the songs, as it does not seem to be keeping with bible teachings 100%, though the deviations were slight and trivial. But half-truths are still lies, as Evan shared with me about 4 or 5 years ago, though he didn't phrase quite that way. The children ministry came to share a message with us, and their children ministry had their own pastor, an Australian called Rev. Alex Murray. He shared a simple message together with the children using a magic trick, one about Jesus rising from the dead and leaving the tomb empty. Pretty entertaining and good way to get a message across.
After church, met up with Cindy at Harbourtown, we were to do our Microecons tutorial together. We had lunch at Northbridge first and did our tutorials later. Took us about an hour and a half to complete it. Went home for a quiet evening at home later on. Tired out.
