Woke up late today as I changed my plans about going to school, since my friend had to send someone off at the airport at the last minute and therefore will be unable to study with me. Decided to heed Bonnie's advice and head out for food, but when I arrived at the nearest foodcourt I realised that today is a public holiday as well (I think they call it Easter Monday) and so all the stores are still closed. Went home and cooked instant noodles again but I added tonnes of fresh vegetables and some ham in order to ensure I at least will have some nutrition. Ate my lunch while watching this documentary about some "Persian Mummy" found in Pakistan (Mental note: Don't watch documentaries about Mummies again while eating, especially when you are eating ham) and the Pakistan archeologist just reminds me of Yee Ching, haha. I remember when Yee Ching can imitate the indian/pakistani accent like she was a native. Absolutely hilarious. I miss her so so so so much!!!!
Feeling very slack, I think I really need to go and study already, this past weekend I haven't managed to get much work done. I must at least complete my tutorials and catch up on all the past work, otherwise this entire study break would be wasted. Sigh... Sick and tired of studying, though I suspect that next time when I start working I'll probably wish for this sort of life. Is there nothing to look forward to?
Called Eileen last night, and talked to her for half an hour before I ran out of money in the call card, now I'll have to get a new one. She was at one of my friend's house, having a gathering. I ask them why never invite me and they told me to come right away, but my private jet tyre's punctured, haha. Can't wait till they come over in July to visit me.
Went to watch VCD after the phone call, currently watching the Condor Heroes series, the ultra old and retro one that Andy Lau acted in when he was very young. Really brings back memories but it's very funny also watching all the "special effects" that was considered "wahhh" when I was young but is considered obsolete now. Anyone can created a better movie now even with a home PC and good software. Since I came here Andy Lau and La Bi Xiao Xin (oh yeah thanks Sophia for lending it to me to *ahem* duplicate) have been my best friends. Suddenly remember that Jacob once said I look like La Bi Xiao Xin... Of all people.
Ah yes, a little on the weather report here. These few days it's been raining a bit more than usual, due to the transition to autumn I guess, but there was a thunderstorm last night. It was freaking scary!!! I thought I had seen it all Singapore, where thunderstorms occur every couple of days but here it is really a humbling experience. You can see every single lightning bolt so clearly, and you can even hear the crackling hiss that accompanies every single one of them, there are even times that you can feel your hair standing on end before the lightning strikes, though whether that is due to static or fear I do not know. Every time the lightnning strikes you can see the lights flicker as well, there was once where there was like a 1 second power failure. I've heard that this is because the electricity poles here in Western Australia are located above ground, unlike Singapore where everything is situated underground. The rationale for this is because Western Australia is darn big and digging underground cables will be far too costly, so everything is on poles, though that also warrants a higher chance of a power outbreak due to lightning strikes. The chance is so high that it is practically a given.
Oh well gotta go and do some required reading for my homework. Back to the doldrums of school life, that reaches even into the private sanctuary that is home.
