This weekend passed real fast. Weekends all do but this one was exceptional. It broke all its previous personal bests and set a new international record.
Basically I spent Saturday studying all day for my EBS test and going to Mike's (the British chap's) birthday, held at Ramon's restaurant at Nicholson Road, about under 10 minutes drive from my place. It was a surprise party for him organised by his wife, Aya and he was real surprised to see us all there when he strolled in. We had a great time, and it wasn't long that Mike requested that I perform a couple of tricks. I broke out the cards and managed to wow them all. I was really on form this night, haha and enjoyed performing for them as much as they enojyed watching it. Sure feels good.
Headed down to this pub called Lakers after that and had a couple of drinks before heading home. I guess it feels so different that we reached home at 10.45pm after a full night's event. In Singapore at 10.45pm the night life would only be just beginning, but I have to say I prefer Aussie's more, you get to enjoy yourself to the max and be in bed by midnight. Best of both worlds.
Sunday, went to church as usual in the morning before heading down to Matilda's Bay just opposite UWA for a sausage sizzle organised by Hollywood Private Hospital (where my sis works) for its staff and family members. The sausage buns were excellent, coupled with salad and the drinks were free flow. I had my fill of beer and wine and juice. This is the life.. There were plenty of dogs around, as many people brought their pets, part of the culture in Oz. I'm sure Eileen will love it, being crazy about dogs. Had real fun playing with the dogs and also some of the kids. One funny thing was that one gal about 6 or 7 years old of age, actually thought that I was 9 years old and wanted to marry me. It was real funny but quite extreme actually... I mean sometimes people say that I can look young but 9 years old? You've got to be kidding right? Haha. I had real fun playing with this sweet little angel called Arlene who looks like the cherubs you see on murals and paintings all the time.
At night we celebrated Wendi's birthday for him, all in all we had a really fun time with James, Iris, Cabrina, Rajah, Tim and Tiffany. My sis set out a real feast of fried rice, some finger foods like french fries, fish fingers and chicken nuggets, complemented by KFC. Yummy!!! The cake was absolutely fabulous too. Ah... Feeling very full already. Need to go and study already. Oh man... Did the weekend have to zoom by so fast?
