Had a real slack day yesterday, spent it mostly sleeping and recovering from the jet lag. One thing I forgot to mention in yesterday's post was that my sis's fiance's car broke down while they were on the way to fetch me, so I had to wait around an hour while they called for the tow team. Thankfully they could start the car later on and come to the airport, or I would have to wait longer than an hour.
We met James, Iris and their friend for dinner at Utopia, this karaoke restaurant for dinner. After dinner, we were chatting when we realised that there was actually a karaoke competition going on for the night, and so we decided to stay and have a look. There were a couple of good contestants but most of them couldn't carry a tune if their life depended on it. There was this uncle who was pretty funny though (even though he didn't realise it). When he went onstage, I was wondering what he was going to sing, probably some chi-na chi-na song that my ancestors used to sing while farming in China. As it turns out, he was going to sing that "Lao Shu Ai Da Mi" song, and all around the table was shocked. We deduced that he was probably a "hip" uncle and we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. He promptly put our theory to rest as his tone was flat and totally not suitable for the song. I tried taking a few pictures of him, but couldn't manage to get any good ones. I'll post them though and you guys see if you can manage to spot it. There's one sneak shot I took of him coming out of the toilet that's not bad though. Keep a lookout for it.
After the competition, we went to this club called Metro for a birthday party. The music was mostly hip hop and rap, with a live DJ and rapper as well as onstage dancers. The place was not so crowded and was pretty all right. I might consider going back there again when I'm in the mood for clubbing, which is pretty rare.
Went to pick Joel up at the airport today with Wayne, it was a real foggy morning and we were afraid that we'll be late as we had to drive slowly but we still made it in time. We went off to Uncle Shi's house after that and had breakfast before leaving for home. Went to church and had a lazy afternoon after that. Went jogging but had calf cramps and couldn't manage to finish my jog. Gonna meet Joel at Uncle Shi's house for dinner later on, and see if there's any night spots to bring them to later, though the only one we could think of on a Sunday night would be the casino. We plan (plot) to bring his family there and take pictures of his father at the casino and blackmail his family with it. Muahahaha...
