Had a lot to do this week, what with rushing for assignment deadlines, my sis's impending wedding, and... oh that's about it, but that's enough to kill most people.
The wedding was quite fun, though busy and tiring. It was definitely a nice experience though. I've definitely attended many weddings in my lifetime, short as it may be, but this is the first where I am more "involved" in the backstage scenes. So many things can go wrong for a wedding, haha, but thankfully everything went well at the end.
Firstly, the suit I bought last semester for this occasion totally couldn't fit anymore, it was several sizes too big now!!! I look more like I am going for a comedy magic act than a wedding. Even the old one I wore in my poly days was too big! Thankfully Joel came to the rescue and lent me his suit which fit snugly and wore my old poly one, though it was not as nice as his own. Here's saying a BIG BIG THANK YOU to Joel, for being so generous. But you still owe me $8.50. (it's been like a month mate, better pay soon.)
Joel and I lost our way to King's Park (where the wedding was held) after a couple of mishaps (Joel forgot his bag which was still in my house, garage door failure which was actually a power plug left off malfunction), thankfully we managed to find out way there in the end with the help of Joel's special ninjitsu technique:- Ninpou Taxidriver Kajitsu!!!
The weather started out pretty bad, it was forecast for showers but it was more like a storm in the morning. The weather turned nice and sunny by the time we reached King's Park, really thank God for that. Anyway the rest of the wedding was pretty fun, and more special in the sense that it was unlike more Asian weddings I've attended. The wedding reception after the solemnisation at King's Park was held at Frenchy's restaurant, with the groom and some friends performing some songs and dancing by the guests. I had the first dance in my life with the groom's sister, pretty fun experience.
The food at the restaurant was great as well. However, I think I'll leave that for Joel to post on his blog, he's the specialist in food. I'll just post some pictures of food for now. After the reception, we had a quiet dinner at home with my sis's and my new brother in law's family as well as Joel and Andy and Siu Kwan. It is the last night that Andy and Siu Kwan are gonna be here. We had pizza and some soup that my mum cooked. Yummy.
The following day we sent Andy and Siu Kwan to the airport, but not before having dim sum buffet as a farewell lunch. Gosh I am putting on weight!!! Better jog it all off during this term break. Gonna miss Andy and Siu Kwan, especially Andy. Anyway Andy is a Lim Jui lookalike, with the same eyes and hairstyle and behaviour!!! I asked Joel and he agreed. Haha. Oh yeah and Wayne's sister looks like Sarah (Tianai) as well. Will post some pictures so that you all can see for yourselves.
Gonna go watch Naruto now. Signing off...
