Cursed

I had a pretty unfortunate and depressing day yesterday. It all started from my Macro tute where my tutor went through the exam paper. As the minutes went by, my morale sunk. (In economic terms my morale and the macro tute time yesterday were negatively correlated) Though I haven't gotten back my results yet, I don't think I did well for the exam at all. Chui..

Had dinner with Wendi, Michelle, Andy and Siu Kwan at Taka's Kitchen yesterday. After the dinner, we were on our way home and travelling along Manning Road where Curtin Uni is. All of a sudden, a car shot out into our lane from a minor road when we had the right of way. Wendi slammed on the brakes and sounded the horn. However, as the road was wet due to rain we were going to collide with the car in front. Wendi then swerved into the other lane ( we were lucky it was unoccupied and so Wendi could take evasive action). Now much to our chagrin, the other car went behind us and flashed their high beam at us and pointed middle fingers. We could see that they were some Asian kids (probably from Singapore as well from the looks of it) and probably studying at Curtin Uni. Now they were clearly wrong but dared to be so arrogant and rude. Thinking about it now still makes me feel pissed off. I wonder if the asshole even had a license. If he drives around like that most of the time he should be dead within a couple of weeks.

When I went home there was a brief respite from the rain that had been going on all day and I went for my jog while there was a break in the weather. Halfway through it rained and so I had to cut short my run and make a dash for my house again. When I reached the driveway, the rain stopped and so I went to continue the run. Halfway through it started drizzling again and I had to dash back again. The unlucky thing is that both times it started raining I was at the midpoint of my route and so it didn't really make a difference whether I was running home or completing the round. By the time I got home, I was quite drenched and feeling quite "no kick".

After I showered, I went to watch "Naruto", which I had just copied from Joel over the weekend on my external hard drive. Halfway through, my external hard drive conked out on me and an autopsy pronounced it officially dead. I just bought the DAMN THING in July when I was in Singapore!!!

And that, my friends, is the story of my extremely lousy day.

Today was another matter entirely. I went to school in the morning to study with Charlene and actually made good progress on the subject I am studying. As it was raining all day I thought that I wouldn't be able to go for my run today but when there was a break in the rain again I went for it, and it didn't rain throughout my jog today!!! I tried my external hard drive again and it could actually work, though there wasn't even a pulse from it yesterday!

So don't give up, all is not lost even when the shit seems to be piling up. Sometimes you just need to flush it all away. And like that lame Navy commercial a few years ago, flushing the shit away just requires "9 grams of pressure to push the button. Do you have the strength?"

Also gonna finish off with a quote from Jacob's blog:-

"Tomorrow might not necessarily be a better day, but have faith, that a better day would come."
