Things have been simply busy, busy, busy, what with all the assignments finally coming in. I feel swamped.
Realised as well that every single teaching staff has to fufil a certain amount of teaching hours. For me, I need to teach almost 500 hours per year! That's a lot!!! But at least I hit my target for this semester. Got a grand total of 240 hours this sem, which is more than what I need to meet my expectations.
Been hanging out with the ph.d students a fair bit, seeing that I might be sharing the office with them next year. But I am not hanging out with them just to pave the way or build good relations. They are nice people. Hopefully I'll take pictures with them soon and I can post them up.
Today, I stayed late in the office to mark assignments and got a phonecall at around 6pm, which is highly unusual. The conversation went like this.
Phone rings...
Ian: Hello, Ian Li speaking
Caller: Hi, can I speak to James Forgarty please?
Ian: James Forgarty... Mel, is that you?
Caller: Eh, Ian?
James Forgarty was the lecturer whose office I took over. And my friend Mel was working in the uni where she had to make calls to ask previous alumni for fund-raising. Apparently she has been trying to reach James. What a coincidence eh? And she didn't even recognise my voice, despite me saying my name right from the start. Darn funny. We chatted for a bit before hanging up. =P
And on a final note... Wednesday is over!!! The worst day of my week. I've got lotsa teaching on Wed plus I teach a subject I don't quite like as well. Not gonna say which one it is. =P
